Symptoms
When you click Sign in with Microsoft, Microsoft shows a message such as "Need admin approval", and you can't finish adding your account.
Cause
Your organization's Microsoft 365 security settings require an administrator to approve Automatic Email Manager the first time it is used. This is a Microsoft security rule, not an error in Automatic Email Manager.
Solution 1: Approve the app with an admin account (recommended)
- Ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to sign in with Automatic Email Manager once.
- When Microsoft asks for permissions, the administrator selects Consent on behalf of your organization (if available) and clicks Accept.
- Sign in again with your regular account. The approval screen no longer appears.

Solution 2: Allow users to approve apps themselves
An administrator can allow users to consent to apps:
- Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center as an administrator.
- Go to Enterprise applications > Consent and permissions > User consent settings.
- Select an option that allows users to consent to apps.
- Click Save.

Tip: Solution 1 is the safer choice. It approves only Automatic Email Manager and keeps your organization's other security rules unchanged.
Note: Microsoft changes the names of its admin menus from time to time. If you can't find these options, search for "user consent" in your admin center.
